Banking and Payment Protection browser not working

Solution

Banking and Payment Protection not functional error

To resolve the Banking and Payment Protection not functional error, follow the steps below: 

  1. Disable Banking and Payment Protection and restart your computer. Make sure you have this article saved in your browser before you restart your computer.

  1. Click Setup → Security Tools.

  1. Click the slider bar next to Banking & Payment protection. Select Disable permanently from the drop-down menu and click Apply.

  1. When you are ready to re-enable Banking & Payment protection, click Setup → Security Tools and click the slider bar again to re-enable. 
  1. Re-enable Banking and Payment Protection and attempt to launch a Banking and Payment Protection protected browser window. If you still receive the same error, proceed to step 3.
     
  2. Repair your ESET product installation. After your computer restarts, disable and then re-enable Banking & Payment protection.

  1. Click Start → All programs → ESET → your ESET product → Uninstall.

    Windows 8/10: Press the Windows key + R, type Control into the blank field and click OK. Click Uninstall a program, select your ESET product and then click Change
     
  2. Click Next.

  3. Click Repair.

  4. Click Repair again to begin the repair process.

  1. When the repair process is complete, click Finish. Click Yes to restart your computer. Make sure you have saved this article to your browser before you resart your computer. 

After you have restarted your computer, attempt to launch a Banking and Payment Protection protected browser window. If you still receive the same error, proceed to step 4.

  1. Uninstall and reinstall your ESET product.
     
  2. If the issue is still not resolved manually uninstall your ESET product and then reinstall as normal.

 


"Protected browser could not be started" message or 0x847695d0 error

To resolve the Protected browser could not be started or 0x847695d0 error, follow the instructions below:

  1. Repair your ESET product installation.

  1. Click Start All programsESET → your ESET product → Uninstall.

    Windows 8/10: Press the Windows key + R, type Control into the blank field and click OK. Click Uninstall a program, select your ESET product and then click Change
     
  2. Click Next.

  3. Click Repair.

  4. Click Repair again to begin the repair process.

  1. When the repair process is complete, click Finish. Click Yes to restart your computer. Make sure you have saved this article to your browser before you resart your computer.

  1. Click Setup → Security Tools.

  1. If the issue is still not resolved manually uninstall your ESET product and then reinstall as normal.
